I used to shut mine down due to lack of of voltage b4 I added multiple alts...... sorry if I wasnt much help but with vehicle electrical its a matter of more is better.... so should it better to get a 300 amp irraggi alt and the 250 to run the truck nd the irragi for the system Quote

MECHMAN Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 that would work It would be better to just run matching alternators together in parallel, and parallel all the batteries in the truck. The truck does not need 250 amps to run, you would be wasting the current from the second alternator that could be used by the system.
