I would say do it, i mean the money is nice but if this is the only serious offer that you have gotten i would go for it. Just make sure there is NOTHING wrong with the tv, no dead pixels and all of the AV and HDMI ports are working correctly. Sound like you could use a tv and i am pretty sure he could use the car. GOOD LUCK MAN!

This.

Like he said, if you haven't gotten any serious offers besides this one, than take it. sounds like a nice tv imo. Plus if he gives you some cash on top of that, its even better. Some money is better than no money. :good:

I would say it depends on model and year of the TV

I used to sell Sony Bravia's at the Parts and repair center at Sears, and back then they had about 3 lines, and cost refurbished $900 for the 42" and $800 for the 32"

But these days the newer models have more features, and better scan rates, yet the prices for brand new is the same as refurbished back then, 3 years ago- Actually better $800 for a 46"

So, all Iam trying to say is, cost of TVs went down so much, it may be a loss on your side

BUT- I would do it

Because I'am all in to home theater/video, and my daughter has a 2000 Passat, and it has been the worst car repair wise I have ever sat in, what I read up on the 99' same deal

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
