you basically need an 800watt rms (or 800 watt continuous, as that is how inverters are usually labeled)

ps3 can draw 600-700 watts all day, and up to 1000 at a peak. I've seen it burn out 600 wattrms, and even cheapo 1000 watt ones, so plan on going real big.

Home Depot has some pretty good one and the price isn't all that bad.

The newer slims will draw less power than the older fat models as well.
