Flint_810
i just got my sub yesterday (fi 15" btl)and i got this temp amp for now its a power acoustik 5500 bamf that only accepts 4awg. it's funny because the inputs on the amp is slanted so it seems like it would be hard to use the 0awg to 4awg reducers. but manly wanted to know if i trimmed down the 1/0awg wire to fit would that defeat the purpose of having 1/0awg? or i should just run two dist. blocks 1/0awg in and 4awg out to the amp? JEMT8
I may have read wrong and am a tard, but why would you need to trim the wire down or use a 4 awg reducers if the amp accepts 1/0? I would think that 4 awg would be to small to run it, especially since they made it to accept 1/0. Guest
from what i remember that amp has dual 4 gauge power and grounds. and i hear that the 4 gauge inputs are smaller than real 4 gauge...but dont quote me on that Edited June 27, 2010 by Kranny
Slawsen
1/0 gauge, you can make it fit...and if it doesn't its because of the cheap amp. HHR Ed
whatever sub you have doesnt matter on the power wire so your title is confusing. Also, I think you made a typo, does the amp accept 4awg or 0awg? You should use the largest wire you can possibly fit, no matter what quality the amp is. Unless you're thinning out the whole wire, I guess it wouldn't make a difference because you still have the same amount of current allowed to go across the wire.
