TLEJ
I've got one DVC Comp VR 15" Kicker in a dual sealed box. If I were to get another DVC Comp VR 15" Kicker, how much louder is it going to be?

dugee81
Well okay. Same amount of power and double the cone area? Theoretically this will add 3db. Are you doubling the amount of power along with the cone area? That's another 3db IIRC. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. TLEJ
Well I've got two of the same exact amps.. putting out 600 RMS each. I'm only using one right now though. Which is 100 watts over the RMS for the kicker. (500).. but it's turned way down. (Plus Kicker's a little underrated?) Also, can anyone tell me what this sub is.. I thought the red was a square.. not a circle?

I've heard that as a rule of thumb dont know how acurate that is also I have no idea what a 3 db difference sounds like do you? In theory, double the cone area off of the same power with the same enclosure specs. in a perfect world would be 3db, or audibly twice as loud. If you doubled cone area as well as power, again that would be 3db on top of that. Again, this is under ideal circumstances in a perfect world. Of course, we are not quite in that, so this is only a theoretical gross estimate. Quote On 6/30/2011 at 1:11 AM, 'Ray' said: Acoustical energy is free. Electrical energy is not. dugee81
If I remember correctly. I'm just throwing info that I've gathered from this site, so it could be correct, or maybe not so much.
