Forevrbumpn Posted August 7, 2007 Report Share Posted August 7, 2007 yeah, the subs back, ports fwd, isnt going to be the most efficient design, infact there may be a -in- cabin gain that is different from port tunning, and cabin resonance because of doing this. Example, if the cabin resonance is like 45hz, and the box is tuned to 30 hz, you may see a peak freq at like 60hz, or higher because of doing that... I definitly like the box build tho, its very creative, and excellent for a first design/build... But I do see you maybe plugging up the ports in the back, and place a new port on the sub baffle so the sub/port are aligned sonically- in the future that is..... And honestly, I have done some really small ports on sub boxes, and they honestly make the best type of SQ-small port design, not loud, but flatter, cleaner almost sealed sound, with a tad better low end, and more efficient... again, not bad at all for a first timer I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
