I turned it down just a tiny bit and it shortly went away. My gain is all the way down and my Bass EQ on the amp is mabey about 1/2 so I know its not coil. I know what coil smells like anyway. Don't use Bass Boost! Some people could care less about who the genius is that is making the product... They just want to get it cheap and say "derrrr, look at teh pretty lights in muh dash!" Well I dont think the sub is burning at all because I know what coil smells like. (sorry if I sounds ignorant). So is having the Bass EQ knob up worse than having gain up possibly? I mean, what should I use, Gain or Bass EQ. When I turn the gain up just slightly it gets ALOT louder, however, the Bass EQ will have to be turned higher before you can notice a change. So I ill turn down the Bass EQ all they way and turn the gain up just a bit. It wont need to be much (like under or around 1/4) because after that the bass is too loud lol. Im running all stock right now as my stock system is pretty damn decent, thats why I have the bass so low. It is most likely excess glue burning, it does have a very sweet smell. Thats what I was thinking but I just wanted to be sure. I know its not coils though because it smells nothing like it. If I were to compare the smell to something id probably say a vanilla lollipop. I have antoher question. On my stock HU I can adjust the bass from -8 to +8. I uasually have it on -4 and maybe sometimes up to +1.
