Terminal problem

Sub stopped working earlier while driving around. Got out to check the wiring, amp was still on. Found THIS.

Thoughts. Comments. I'm guessing my problem is too thin of a wire?

Inside the box and sub are wired with 8ga.

It looks like to thin of wire like you said. Maybe them cheap terminals had something to do with it. It reminds me of Schoshe brand fuse blocks. They melt mighty quick. Cheap pot metals to blame. I'm assuming the L7 is okay right?

Yeah, the sub is perfectly fine. Looks like I need to get new terminals and thicker wire. How thick should I do?

i went wit 8g, you can go with 12g too if you want to go smaller than a 8g wire.

for terminals, i wouldnt use those "cup terminal" things i would drill some holes and use some plain nuts and bolts

Wires to small causing to much resistance, causing lots of heat and then leads to melting
