amontoya2 Posted November 9, 2011 Report Posted November 9, 2011 im gonna buy an FI BTL 18 but im gonna need to buy an amp for no more than $300 atm. i was thinking about going with the boss ol5kd, its 1 ohm stable and 5000w max but i figured that isnt "true watts" but i had the ol3kd hooked up to two 12" pioneer premiers and it did good. its only about 230 bucks on ebay. if i got that amp, with a good box, is it gonna sound good? and i want it to be loud! but its hard on a tight budget lol im open to any suggestions for amps under $300 thanks for any help! Well i have the same issue but mine is a 15"btl and i was looking at the soundstream rubicon 2500.1 and i saw it on ebay for 268 so i thought it was a good price and searched it on youtube to see how good it worked and saw this video which i posted the link below and it seems to be doing the job

Be careful of the Ohm loads : audiopipe at 2 ohms, and the rubicon palys at 1 Ohm (checkt to see if I'm right on this one !). a D1 sub for the AP, and a D2 for the SS. black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.

I agree with Derrick 100%, the AP3000 is going to be your best bang for buck. Or you can just wait another month and add to that $300 to get you something really nice! Also, cruise the classifieds. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
