What can cause subs to be out of phase? Is it harmful?

I have 4 SVC subs on a monoblock amp and they appear to be out of phase.

1 or 2 could be reversed... try switching the wires to see if it puts it in phase

more info on the setup would be helpful. what kind of box? but this ^ do they appear to be completely opposite of each other? an easy way to test if they actually are out of phase is to pan all of your music to either the right or left. then when you pan back to center it should be significantly louder.

All are wired correctly, setup is in my sig, but I'm not sure on the specs of the box. I can tell you that the design of the box sucks..i'll brb to talk more

so you have 4 12's? how are they wired?

they're 13.5", all 4 ohm svc, wired in parallel down to 1 ohm. brb gonna take rough measurements of the box

box basically has 1 sub on each side of the front, port in middle. 1 sub on each side of the box, and the back side is just mdf.

the port is 5.5" wide 14.5" tall and 17" long

box is 40w 16h 25d

the port has 2 sides to it and it does not turn, just straight back

and no they don't seem to move completely opposite of each other, im gonna go take a look at em real quick again then i gotta get ready for work, i'll check back later

If you have a DMM (Digital Multimeter), you should check the DC Resistance of your coils to make sure they all read correctly.

I just wanted to know if it could hurt them..cuz its just slightly moving different. sounds good and its not moving opposite..just seems to me like its not perfectly in sync. I'll check them with the meter later. Off to work. Thanks for the help so far
