should my subs be smelly when break in?

Tones = more voltage, thats why you tune it using a tone because if you tuned it on music then played tones, youd blow/clip something. Shouldnt be all over the place with a tone though, should be the exact opposite.

your dmm numbers (AC volts btw not DC) should stay constant, if not then something else is wrong.

Lol I am starting to think his amp is fucked and thats what is smelling, or its clipping and making his subs die slowly..

not exactly. alot of brand spankin new subs smell on clean power because the excess glue is burning off.

nope, I smell it out of the port. Just to make sure. I downloaded this tone: this tone I used then used audacity to make it -6db.

I also tried a usaci official cd tone and did the same thing. I'm doing the tones through ipod. but shouldn't matter. my cd player is some what messed up on my deck. Ipod works fine. It pounds on music tho.

Well, if you know its not coil, I wouldn't worry about it.

yea k, it's not a heavy smell like I said. Like doesn't smell really bad like a coil burning. U just smell it lol.

I don't have carpet on the box. you could tell it's coming from the subs.
