How To: Get every last strand of wire in that terminal

Recommended Posts

This may not be super important to most people, but to the ones who join me in the OCD club i made somethin. The pictures pretty much tell it all. On a side note, i took all these pictures with my blackberry storm. Does anyone else thing the quality is amazing for a phone?

Cut your wire to length

Cut the insulation

Pull the excess insulation (everything above the cut) up but NOT OFF

Wrap some wire or something (i used solder because it keeps its shape) around the threads TIGHT

Pull off the insulation you cut off

IMG00076-20100807-1734.jpg

Put the terminal on

Finally just pull the wire off.

As you can see every last strand is in the terminal, no twisting no cutting frayed wire.

Looks good. I still prefer twisting my terminals on though lol. But atleast now 25% of your wire wont be sticking out of the side lol

damn I didnt think of that man. I usually take a piece electrical tape and wrap it around the bottom, right above the cut line. then slip the terminal on and take off the tape....but its more surface area and this would work much better :good:
