Ok, well after seeing Bumpin's theft I decided to share my ways of anti theft. No I'm not talking guns shooting the driver, or explosives or any of that stuff, but practical ways to slow a thief.

1. Fuel pump cut off switch. Can't go anywhere without fuel, so this trick works very effectively. All you do is cut the power wire to your pump, and route it through a switch. Simple. Hide the switch someone easily accessible from the drivers seat, but hidden from view. Possibly under the carpet in the trunk.

2. Starter disable relay. A lot of people know how to bypass the gm vats systems. Relatively simple to do. They have a relay which, if the wrong key is in the vehicle it cuts out the starter, and in some vehicles, the fuel injectors won't fire. Anyways, If you were to find the starter enable wire, deep past your steering column, you can prevent your car from being hot wired from the column, but not at the starter.

3. Multiple alarms. Most car thieves, if they want your shit bad enough, they will take it. You may not be able to stop them, but you sure can make it hard to steal. A lot of thieves, will break into the car, and go right for the antenna of the alarm, and the siren. A simple and effective trick to do is, place another back up antenna and siren, in a completely different and remote place in the car. Then when the thief breaks in and cuts the first set of wires, he'll still have the second one to find and disable.

4. Homemade gps tracker. A lot of people know this one.. its just taking a cheapo cell phone and mounting it in the vehicle. All you do is get a cell, and its car charger. you cut the chargers cigarette adapter off and hard wire in to the vehicle to be on and charging all the time. Turn phone on silent, and on to auto answer, and when vehicle is stolen you can contact police or cellphone company and have them track it.

5. Automatic Airbag. This is a tip not recommend.. but if you really wanna deter people from driving your vehicle this is a way. I know a guy, who took the hot wires to his airbag and wired it into a switch. If the switch isn't off when the vehicle is messed with, air bag goes off. This could be explained to insurance company, that he cut the wrong wires, but I wouldn't recommend it.

That's all I can think of off the top of my heads, so post up your own ideas. I also understand not all of these ideas are practical or whatever, but the extra work is would pay off if it was ever needed.

There all DIY.. lol. You have to posses the knowledge to do it, that's all. Really, all of these can be done in your driveway. Of course, it will be a lot easier if you drive a classic over a 2010 lexis, but either way, it can be done. The hardest part about half of it, is finding the wires.

I know a different guy for every one of these examples. It's not hard. Actually, it might take you a while, but think of it this way. You spend a lot of time on your vehicle. Whether its earning the money for the equip or building parts of it. The little time invested in some of these security additions, you could call them, is very much worth the investment.

Ok, I'll explain #2 as is, in my 97 Buick Lesabre. Story: I recently blew motor up. Car sat, decided to put new motor in. While swapping motors, I lost the keys. Got a new tumbler, and my car had the vats system. You GM drivers know this system because of the black chip in the older cars keys. This chip is a resistor. If a certain module doesn't read the right resistance, it will disable the fuel injectors from pulsing or firing. It will also, in some cases, disable the starter. Well.. all you would have to do it something like this. (This information is very basic, and there are a few variations out there, on GM's There's Passkey systems, Passlocks and Vats, all doing the same thing, in a different way.)

Find the wire in your harness for the column that gives the starter solenoid, its juice to enable. Follow said wire to a discreet location, where a splice can be made. You would gap the splice with a switch. Said switch can then be hidden by the owner. If the switch is off, it won't let the solenoid give the starter juice to turn over. So, lets say your thief is trying to hot wire your car. He cuts that wire at the column, but the switch is off. Even though hes giving that wire power, the flow is interrupted by the switch, thus disabling the starter. He could, though crawl under the car and hot wire it at the start, but that's too time consuming for a thief. They want to be in and out. A vehicle that takes longer then expected, is often left sitting.

Alarms are nice. Especially the 2 way pagers. But think of this.. how often have you heard a car alarm and disregarded it? They go off so often, they're often just forgotten about, unless it's your own vehicle.

Sorry, I kind've rambled, but I think I got my idea across. I left out a few details, but I can try to draw a diagram, if you're really serious about it.

Edit:Damn Beanz, I've seen you lookin for a while. I'm expecting a big post, because I don't think you're a slow reader =p

^^ See that's the type of thing I mean, that can be a huge help. One big thing to remember, if the thief can't find your system to cut your wires, the alarm will keep going and going. One nice thing when installing an alarm, the option for the backup battery is an excellent idea. Some crooks when breaking into a car, one of the first things they do is; cut the battery cable. With the back up batteries powering the alarm system, the alarm will keep going off until it's disarmed.

**Please note.. the information I've provided is very basic. Every manufacturer of alarms is different.**

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

All very good tips, but there is one thing you can not stop and that is the tow truck(your shit will be gone in a heart beat). And number two, caught slippin in traffic(pay attention to your surroundings people)

I know some people that have multiple sirens for their alarms as well. Some firing right down in the engine bay if someone crawls up under there and some actually inside the car. If they are in your car looking for the wires they have that alarm in there screaming in their ears.

Its also good to invest in a nice home surveillance system, not only for your car but just for that extra bit of security for your home and family.

Last neighborhood I lived in someone broke into both of my cars and stole the H.U. and some other shit. I had an idea of who it was but I couldn't prove anything of course. I put up some cameras on my house and the person I thought it was wouldn't even look my direction when I was sitting outside in the garage. Matter of fact the guy wouldn't even walk on my side of the street anymore.

I like cameras that have audio and video. I put the one with audio right by the garage so if my alarm went off I would hear it while the t.v. for the cameras were on cause I'm too deep of an sleeper.
