If a CEL is on, go to Oreillys/Advance/Autozone and have the code checked. That would drastically pin point the problem. Checking fuel filter would be a start. How is the maint. on the vehicle? Is it maintained? Oil every 3k, Using OE recommended AC Delco spark plugs? When were they changed last?

no distributor on that engine. im gonna say fuel filter. sound like its clogging up and starving it for fuel

Oh haha my bad. For some reason I thought it was an chevy impala. Could be the fuel filter then. Check your intake and make sure it's secure. Busted catalytic converter could also be the culprit. There's so many different thing it could be, even a bad tank of gas. Do what's been mentioned and go to autozone and have them use a scanner to see if any codes are on. That should narrow it down.
