Aeroports for daily driving?

DylanH

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at doing 2 15" DC Level 4's with level 5 coils and running them on around 3k. I was wondering, do aeroports do well in daily driving? I noticed most people use slot ports for daily but I think it would be easier and more convinient to do aeroports.

I'm gonna measure and start designing my box tomorrow. But it should be a little more than 8 cubic feet before displacement so what would I need for aero ports? What size and how many. Also where can I get them?

I use aero's in my daily driver they sound great. A rough guess would be 3 6" aero ports. You can buy them at parts express

i would suggest using the torres calc you can find it easily on here its very helpful and as for aero being daily there is nothing different from a slot port being daily just whatever tuning freq you pick i would say aeros are a little better because there is less port noise unless of course the slot is flared then it basically the same

Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged

Another benefit of using aero's is generally you need 9-12^2" of port per cubic foot vs 12-16^2" of port per cubic foot with a slot port so they take up less air space in a box

Go check my build log.

I used PVC but it's the same concept.

I have 8 4in Pieces for Burp.

Can block some off to change tuning.

2 of them is like 35hz which is a good daily as my truck wants to peak 28-30hz windows down.

Plug 4 to bring tuning to 28hz.

Retardedly low. In a good way. :)

i believe 2 6" ports would be very small for 8 cubes and you wouldnt get great output. and if you go with three 6" ports, the lowest you could tune to is 37hz because they only come 17" long. so if you wanted to tune lower you would need to make your own ports out of pvc. you will also want to make sure you have 6" behind the port on the inside of the box, and 6" in front of the port, outside the box. so you can see, people that have big boxes and want to tune low would have a lot of challenges for flared ports. thats why you see so many slot ports.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

I'd go 2 6" Aero's for that, for a daily.

For a long time my daily was 1x DD9515 in ~3.5 cubes with 1 6" aero. Did pretty much everything you could want. Despite being tuned in the low 40's it could still break 140 @ 29hz.
