doug118
in comparison to the milles DD germans and XXX mids are complete garbage as well. You're comparing a rolls royce phantom to a lexus gs300 2001 Tahoe. finkster
I heard some German Maestros at our local shop and god damn they sound amazing. Not sure which series but msrp was like 1800. Funny our local shop just dropped Hertz because no one would buy them. But then again, I dont see many ballers around this town DAT 4125------>RE XXX comps active Eclipse cd7000 I serve drunks for a living
monkeyleg
I'll give you one, they suck and make your ears ring. They aren't warm at all and Polk has been making garbage for years now. 15 years ago they made fantastic tweets, but now, they make bargain bin garbage. Back in the 90's you could get clear warm sound from Polk, MBQ, BA, etc. but all of those companies have changed gears to making crap for the masses and are now "great for the money" companies. When I got back into car audio I was hell bent on replacing the 3 sets of MBQ Refs (from 97) I gave away 18 months ago when I thought I was never doing another install and when I started to look around I figured out with a quickness that my favorite tweets were gone replaced with $89 components on up to a staggering $189?! My MBQ's were over $600 in the 90's... Stay away from mainstream like the plague. I snagged my TRC60's for two reasons... 1) They were cheap 2) The mids weren't too shabby - I H A T E them... They S U C K! I can't wait to sell off all this crap (amps, alts, etc) and get some real comps. Problem being finding a forking dealer (the 2 high end shops around here went tits up during dot bomb). I see a future in un-warrantied gear from an unauthorized dealer in my future EDIT: I'm not trying to be a dick man, but "good for the money" and "good" are not the same thing. They suck to your ears, they ring your ears, and they're not warm at all to you. 15 years ago I was barely in elementary school. These speakers sound awesome, everyone I know loves them and any review I read says they're awesome and they don't destroy your credit card. You didn't even provide a good alternative. You just said everything out there sucks and so you bough shitty speakers that you don't like because they were cheap. If I am supposed to stay away from mainstream what am I supposed to buy to fill in 24 holes in my car? What speakers sound good to you? jdubs
Dont do anything from a company that does SPL. I can't find a single bad review on the DD germans... lol. Its either those or 2 sets of Alpine type R components/ RF t2 components per door. Thats really all I can get my hands on locally. Possibly focal, but we all know how expensive those bad boys are Kenwood DDX 514 DD M3a DD 9512G RF 600.4 RF power series 6x8s lots of zero ga.
