Leave a sub unhooked or cover the whole???

Well, to make this short, i got a blown coil on one of my 2512´s , i was piece drunk giving some demos with a VERY low song on a 41hz tuning box, oh well, that´s what happen when you drink, you do stupid things hehe!!! So, i ordered my recone kit this morning but i´m on Latin America and things are way slower on this side of the continent, i have a BIG bass race competition next weekend and i can´t use the swift, so i´ll have to use the sexplorer with only 3 subs and the SD wire @ 1.33 ohms, i don´t want to do it actually but i´m on first place on the national ranking right now, i know i can´t bass race a 149.9 number, but i need to score some points so the guy after me can´t catch me!!

Said all that, is it better to take out the sub and cover the whole or to leave the sub there like a passive radiator?? really need some advices here guys, cheers!!!

do ya have a way to meter it? id try both, a few tries with the sub in then same tracks with the sub out and hole covered. haha and drunk demos are fun mang well til the next day and your all sober like " oh shit WTF did i do lastnight haha"

Yes i can meter it hommie, just wondering if there´s any risk of damaging the other subs, i know it´s a noob question but it´s the first time on my life that i have to use the system on a comp with a blown sub, i really don´t care much about the number, just the safety of my other subs.

Yes, drunk demos are fun hahaha, it´s better to blown a sub enjoying it than taking care of it hehe, they have taken the abuse very well, no complains, it was entirely my fault, i woke up today sleeping with a bitch i didn´t know (at least she was HOT) , a blown sub and with 90$ less in my wallet haha, life´s good!!

haha sounded like a good time for sure. and i gotcha on the sub safty, safty first right lol. one less sub playing would meen the other 3 would have more airspace so it would be a bigger box pretty much. lows would be a lil better? just carefull with how low of tracks ya play. just my opinion though, i still consider myself a noob and throw an answer out there like this so if im wrong i can learn too lol with out the thread jackin thing

Yeah, hell of a time! haha, sure, internal space would be bigger of course, i´m not doing any demos or anything, just gonna bass race 3 or 4 rounds that day and that´s it, but if someone says i can screw up my other subs because of this, i can asure you, no bass race that day!!

definatly a possiblity to damage the other subs... got measurements of teh box? we can try to calcuate it...

i don´t worry about the box size really, i have around 7.5 cubic feet after displacement, it´s 1.85 c/F per sub so they could take the power from my SD, that´s why i screwed up my sub, small box and 41 hz tuning isn´t the proper box to play some lows, but hell, i enjoyed it!! hehehehe

anyways, i´ll have around 2.5 cubic feet per sub now, i´ll set the gains LOW as hell on the soundigital of course, that ain´t worries me at all, is just that i don´t know what´s the behavior now, this is a pic of my box, i´ll have all kind of wrong airflows inside the box i guess because there´s gonna be 2 subs on side playing against a single sub on the other one....
