memphisbasshead
Hey guys i've decided on getting a DD 512B, is this a good decision? Thanks. i would recommend getting something a little better than that if you can get sundown over there i would look into the sundown sa-10 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Sundown-Audio-SA%252d10-Subwoofer.html buy it straight from that sight of you can. or the sa-12 if you can afford it http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Sundown-Audio-SA%252d12.html or the re audio se 12 http://cgi.ebay.com/RE-AUDIO-SEx12-D2-12-SUB-WOOFER-CAR-SUBWOOFER-SE12-new-/360292155350?pt=Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item53e315ffd6 or this dayton sub would be a good choice http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=295-467 all of those subs can be shipped to the uk from those sites. out of all of these subs the sa-12 is probably the best for SQL or SPL and the dayton is probably the best for SQ. the re audio sub is a decent sub but i would go with the sa-12 if you can cause i think its one of the best 12's for the price. memphisbasshead
Im interested in the SE12, but would you reccomend it over the DD1512? Thanks. well i think the dd 1512 might be slightly better for spl and power handling but for sq the re se is better. i would get the sundown sa-12 if i where you cause its probably just as clean sounding as the re 12 is but it probably will get louder. but still the re se 12 is a great sub though just don't put anything over 700-800 watts rms into it unless you know what you're doing don't put anything over that power. the sa-12 can probably take 1000 rms daily My Car Audio Setup: Sub: 1 RE Audio HC 15 Dual 2 ohm(soon to get a psi recone) Daily Sub Box: 1.62 cubes net with 2 dayton audio 8 inch passive radiators tuned to 34.35 hz, 141.9 @ 48 hz sealed on the dash with termlab Competition Sub Box: 3.10 cubic ft. net tuned to 50.58 hz with 2 6 inch aeroports, 147.9 @ 62 hz sealed on the dash with termlab Amp: Powerbass ASA 1000.1 Dx(eventually gonna get a planet audio bb2400.1) Big 3: Phoenix Gold 1/0 Gauge Amp Wire: Knukoncepts 1/0 gauge Alternator: Stock 90 amp Battery Under the hood: Autocraft Gold Top Battery Battery In Back: None for now but I am looking for one so pm me if you have one for sale HU: Pioneer DEH-2900MP Front/Rear Amp: Hifonics Txi-4408 4 channel amp Front Speakers: Orion Cobalt 6.5 coaxial Rear Deck Speakers: Orion Cobalt 6x9 coaxial Home Audio Setup: Speakers:2 Cerwin Vega D-3's (10" Woofer,5 1/4" mid-range,1" Bullet Dome Tweeter) 2 Cerwin Vega D-5's (12" Directed Audio Xtreme 124SX Subwoofer,5 1/4 mid-range,1" Bullet Dome Tweeter)Kenwood center channel and rears. Playa Named Joe
You'll notice with most "underground" companies their isn't an entry level woofer just a woofer that simply takes less power to preform well. Anything below the SE line from RE isn't worth the money... Lies. I think a $50 10" that can take 400rms is a good buy. I had an RE10 on 500 rms daily and it loved it. I think you would be most happy with the DD 1512 or a 1012. *This site is always going to suggest DC and Sundown over just about anything just because. I'm not saying they are not good quality subs. 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix build
lance_98main
I hate to say it on this forum, but i have heard quite a few type x's, and they sound amazing. They get real loud to. I've heard a single 10 on a jl 1000/1 and it absolutly amazed me. It was in a ported box tuned at 31hz and it sounded GREAT. I was really impressed with it. Depending on the price i think it would hang with the dd all day. 2000 2dr blazer 15" diamond audio d3 4 cubic ft. tuned @ 32hz (slot port, sub back, port back) debating on a wall or no wall. Then again I don't know how your money translates... And to the RE SE sounding good... They sound alright... But are a bit sloppy in a ported box for my taste... similar to a W7.
