And would they be okay in an ordinary sealed box, only temporarily of course, will switch to slot ported in future. I know the type x has a far higher rms than the others but im not familiar with aa/dd so i hope you can help me? Thnx.

Well im from the UK so the range of subs is much smaller than what you have available in the US, even though ill be ordering from the internet.. im looking for more spl than sql, my budget is £140..also because of this we have to pay almost twice the ammount than what you can get them for in the US so thats why im not spending alot. Thnx.

It fits your budget. hum...don't forget shipping costs. Alpine type R, forget about the type x for spl, it's a sq type of sub. It won't be loud enough !!! take a look at the DC Audio subs. The smd members like them a lot !!! They seem to be LOUD! black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.

Is the type r seriously louder than a type x? I always thought being 1k rms there would be a big difference..Being in the UK with all the mainstream its hard to find subs like DD, Sundown, RE, etc unless you order online and they really are overpriced compared to what you can get them for in the US
