Standard caps in most amps are aluminium electrolytic already Pretty sure it's just marketing poo-poo. The PC-style solid caps cost way, way too much.

Solid caps do not contain electrolytic compounds. They do cost more for sure, but they dont explode due to aging (electrolytic capacitors age and become less efficient over time) and are superior to a normal electrolytic capacitor in pretty much any form as long as you're using them correctly.

Oh right, solid caps like the ones Asus and Gigabyte throw all over the place on their motherboards.

Great caps but currently cost a$$loads. And I can't even find them in a useful size at rail voltages. I imagine they would be like $100 each.
