SMD 18 vs DC LVL 5 18.....winner has been chosen on pg 9

People, i have never ran a level 5. I hear its great and people love them.

i can tell you this, i have had 2 RF 2500.1 BD's per sub, each birthed over 3300w........ran @ .7 ohms @ 15.6v with around 1400amps of alternator and 10 batteries to back it up (aka LOTS OF POWER) I have beat the HELL out of these subs since i got them and they are STILL PROTOTYPES. I dont even have production models. They are in PERFECT condition and i dont see any of that changing. 3500rms rating is there for the dumbasses who think they can just buy a super-sub and drop a million watts without knowing what they are doing but we ALL KNOW it can take WAY more then that. The SMD is a solid sub and sounds GREAT, even using my old ass box that i had since 2004. If it sucked, it would be laced with problems and you all would know it because you cant hide when your blowin smoke out your port and making youtube video's.

so far, no smoke, no flames, and only one time since January have i even had the slightest wiff of heat......and if you know my power supply situation in the Casino, that was probably why.

so anyway, buy a fucking DC, Buy an SMD, i dont care.......but dont be talking out of your ass when discussing either one. Rusty dont appreciate that any more then i do (or dont or whatever).

Damn I read every post an this thing and it turned from being a lets give this guy some advice on which sub I think he should run forum to..... A this sub is better than that so much so that Steve got involved. That's sick lol... I still wish I could hear either one of these brands of subs. Nobody around KC, Missouri runs either of these amazing woofers. I do tons of research on subs I am thinking about purchasing and from my standpoint both these subs would be under the SUPER-WOOFER category in my book. Rusty is one hell of a dude with one hell of a company, and everyone thats ever checked youtube for subs has seen what Steve can do. Just get whichever sub is in your price range I'd be willing to bet you'll be super happy with either choice.

question for you then steve. I'm seriously considering getting 1 of your 18's and putting it in my scion tc. I also have 2 t2500bd's to throw on one. Do you think it would break the glass roof of my car? I'm asking you cause you see first hand the flex, I'm sure my car would have the same if not more than your 4.... Being the cabin space difference

Much in the same way the RF T15k and the Kicker Warhorse are just like every other amp? Of course basic principles are fundamental, but when you're attempting to compare awesome products from DC and AA you need to actually understand all of those basic principles in order to appreciate the leaps and bounds made by said woofers. Bold statement? Yes. But one that truly can't be proved or disproved simply by arguing about it.

My suggestion would be the SMD to the OP

i mean, technally yeah they are comparable. They both have power and ground inputs, rca inputs, speaker outputs, a cicuit board, metal case, they get warm, both kick ass, etc... alright, done with the smartass comments. I love both brands of subs so i don't suit this thread very well other than my remarks..

i have no idea my bro.....try it and find out. No way of telling. I personally think that any decent woofer with a lot of power is bad news for a sunroof LOL

x2 lol, metal sheet+ welding= non distrucable roof , sun roofs dont like bass
