Watch the bass
This is what I don't like about the black paint finish : It's not noticeable on the SA line with relatively small back and top plates -- but when you get plates this thick it shows up. The black paint also sometimes gets messed up a bit in shipping as it occasionally is not 100% cured and the plastic packing bag will mess up the finish by leaving crinkle marks on it. Minor, yes, but it bugs me... especially on a larger and more expensive driver like this. Scratchin, lloks like an Vinyl-LP. sundownz
My prototypes are here and they are fantastic... the 18" has an incredible amount of throw... I actually bottomed it out free air. Fortunately I have modifications for production that provide 15mm more mechanical clearance rearward =) I may tool new surrounds for them before production as well -- but that is pending more testing... as these surrounds are actually already pretty darn good. Bring on the revisions lol Don't worry - I already addressed it for production Was supposed to be a 15mm bump-out in the back plate that wasn't there on prototypes -- will be on production. sundownz
just saw the pics on facebook of the z3 family...they look awsome dude....now how about an 8 lol Haha... well on the 10" the magnet boot may have to be removed if you use 8 awg speaker wire so the motor is a wee bit too large for 8s. sundownz
Need to play the 12 and 15 some before measuring specs but here are 18" and 10" specs after a couple minutes play time... should experience a good bit more break-in over a week or so of play time.
