Sounds like you should just go with the p2 15" to me, Your are very up in the air on sub selection I think you would be most satisfied the p2 over a p3 shallow. Shallow sound good but to where close to a normal woofer I would definitely only use one if you were very space limited.

i personally like the p2 opposed to the p3 shallow, but i like the RE more than the p2.

OP, maybe you should just wait and save up some more so you can buy something worthwhile instead of settling with what your budget allows right now. another month or two you might have enough to get some MUCH better equipment

Ok this is a final add in, my other option is a 15" L5. How does that sound, best option so far?

I hate l5's they don't handle anywhere near the kind of abuse an l7 will take even if played at rated power.

Well in that case then i will go for an RE SR15 and put a good 500 rms to it. Thanks, any more advice appreciated.

I don't know much about the re audio sr series heres ome woofer that i Know will take the 500 watts and in your price range.

Agreed jbl's take alot of power over there rated rms clipping will destroy any sub.
