DarkTinman
So as it says in the topic title, i am looking to buy some new door speakers. I have heard about some good brands and other bad brands. I'm really confused on what to buy. I have a 97 Honda Accord SE and I have a 600 watt kenwood to push the door speakers. Does anyone have any suggestions for me on what to buy? I'm looking for something that isn't too expensive but something that will last. memphisBred
What are you wanting in terms of power? What's the RMS rating for the amp per channel? DarkTinman
Not really sure. It's an older style of kenwood. It was handed down through the family kac-728s # RMS Power at 4 Ohms: 100 W x 2 # RMS Power at 2 Ohms: 150 W x
kingleo
Look at RE Audio 6.5c's 50 watt rms. Or Crescendo ccx's 100 rms. Both about the same price 100 bucks and they are components. bassl0va
The DD components are pretty nice and they would take 100 watts fine (make sure you have the HPF on though) Quote My RE MT 18" wall build Former build, farewell beloved wall.In progress, Toyota Starlet build This forum has a massive boner for ridiculous electrical upgrades. DarkTinman
Alright. I don't know much about those but i will be sure to check them out. The only problem is that with my deck, i don't think i have a HPF. I have a kenwood receiver, KDC-BT645U
cheese20323
The amp should have one . Quote 92 Accord Build
DarkTinman
What if i don't want to run them with an amp?
Guest
What if i don't want to run them with an amp? then the speakers wont work rofl. what do you think gives them power? dont use headunit power btw. theres a big difference in sound quality and loudness if you use an external amplifier. oh also the amp has HPF/LPF/etc settings right on the side of it... CaptainzPlanetz
What is your budget, and are you looking for SQ or speakers that just scream, or a mixture, and what size are your stock locations, and are you willing to cut, for instance I have Rainbow 6.5's and I had to make some modifications to get them to fit good in my doors.
