For a single 12 you can make the box about 14" high so the sub can fit. Then you need enough room to fit the sub and port so you can make it about 20" wide lets say for starters.

So thats 14" x 20".

Now we figure our depth.

Volume is depth x height x width.

So 2 cubes is 12" x 12" x 24"= 3456 cubic inches.

Our 3 dimensions multiplied should come close to 3456. and we have 14 x 20 already which equals 280

So then we take that 3456 and divide by 280 to figure out what else we need. And we get about 12.34", This is how deep we make the box.

So we figured 14" x 20" x 12.34" will give you a 2 cubic ft box that can fit a 12" sub and room for a port on the baffle.

You will have to make the box a bit larger though because the sub and port take up some of that airspace. Thats why a 2.5 cube box may do better.

So lets add another .5 cubes by making the box deeper.

2.5 cubes is 4320 cubic inches.

our 14x20=280

4320/280=15.43"

So make the box 14"H x 20"w x 15.43"D for 2.5 cubes

sorry, it was a bit of a smart ass comment. As for the size of your box, it can be just about any dimension as long as the woofer fits, has about 4" behind it, and the three dimensions multiply out to be roughly 2-3 cubic feet. Now remember, the subwoofer itself takes up airspace. I havnt looked yours up but you can safely assume that it is about 0.14 cubic feet per subwoofer. In my opinion 2 cubic feet is more than enough for a 12" depending on the amount of power. So, measure the smallest dimensions of your trunk and report back so we can help you make your box to fit just right.

oh, and what kind of amp will your be running with this sub? The amount of power you have on a sub affects how big the box should be. Again, sorry about the comment.

as for finding cubic inches, it is exactly the same as finding cubic feet.

To start, 1 dimension is one foot, one foot by one foot will give you feet squared, or ft^2 which is area such as how large the surface of a table is. multiply again and you get feet cubed which is volume such as how much space there is in a container such as da da! your speaker box. now inches are the same way, 1in x 1in x 1in = 1 in^3. To convert between one foot and 1 inch you multiply the amount of feet by 12 inches because there are 12 inches in a foot. now, if you have inches^2 or 1" x 1" in you must then multiply by 12"x12", or 144 inches. For example, 2 feet squared is 2'^2 x 144"^2= 288"^2. same goes for inches cubed

calc? not sure what your talking about but as for box calculator this is what i use:

play around with the dimensions, just make sure that you have about 2.14 cubic feet, and about 24 square inches of port, and the tuning is anywhere from 30 hz to 38 hz (if you want more low end lean towards 30 hz, if you want more high end of the bass go closer to 38 hz, i personally prefer 32 hz. Oh, and keep in mind that because your woofer takes up airspace the enclosure calculator is not taking that into consideration so tune about 2 hz lower than you actually want for your box to make up for it. Another choice would be to use a round pvc port which makes building the box much much easier. To order them i would reccomend this: round 4" flared pvc port and use this website to calculate the length of the port needed: flared, round port length calculator
