bcpballer64 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 Ok i've got it and i know what this project is too . Wire 5 drivers together in parallel (.8 ohms). Make 5 sets of those. Then series the 5 sets (.8 + .8 + .8 + .8 + .8 = 4ohms) and you get a final ohm load of 4 ohm per 25 drivers. On lets say a 4ch amp which gives you 100 drivers, 25 per channel at 4ohm per channel. Tweets are coming after tax return and hopefully new amp before that. And boon, tbh... i have no idea what it is. Thats why i ask the smart people i resolve to be a nicer moderator. moetpoppin Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 yeah man what is rise? haha i think basically it is once you start moving it the resistance increases? talkin out my ass tho... someone explain? EclipseChris Posted September 23, 2010 Author Report Posted September 23, 2010 Preview of what it to come. It will take a lot of time but i am determined... Rainman215 Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Tax return? Jeez you've got a long time to save. Where are you putting these? And does your amp crossover high enough for tweeters? EclipseChris Posted September 23, 2010 Author Report Posted September 23, 2010 Tax return? Jeez you've got a long time to save. Where are you putting these? And does your amp crossover high enough for tweeters? Yeah, its gonna cost 3-4 hundred to do both doors. And i plan on glassing in either pvc pipe or exhaust tubing into the door panel so i can remove them and replace them really easily. I think the amp that i have and am using does have a crossover that should work, and i don't think it puts out enough power to blow them anyway. This is gonna prove to be a try it and see type thing. i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. Eclipse build Old New V-Dub My feedback.

STEvil Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 I'd go a bit higher than 4 if you can. Rise is the upper fluctuation level of your active variable resistive load (its the maximum excursion level of the coil in the magnetic gap).. say you attach a 1 ohm driver to an amp. It will have a high and a low peak. If you want to use "rise" to make more power you do it for burps in SPL. You dont do it for daily. Given the number of drivers you are using i'd maybe shoot for a bit higher than 4 ohms, though technically tweeters dont fluctuate their resistive value as bad as a subwoofer with a coil that jumps around in the gap a lot I guess. MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
