IT TOOK ALMOST THREE WEEKS AND 240 HOURS TO COMPLETE. ALL ORIGINAL DESIGN WORK AND CUSTOM FABRICATION. FITS THREE 12-INCH SUBWOOFERS, HOWEVER EACH SUBWOOFER IS PLACED IN THEIR OWN SEPARATE PARTITION. EACH PARTITION IS APPROXIMATELY 3-CUBIC FEET AND IS COMPLETELY SEALED FROM WITHIN. ADDITIONALLY, EACH PARTITION IS INDIVIDUALLY PORTED. THE THREE PORTS MERGE TOGETHER TO FORM ONE MAIN EXIT PORT. YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING MADE LIKE THIS ANYWHERE. THIS IS DEFINITELY ONE OF A KIND AND IS NOT AN ENCLOSURE FOR THE WANT-A-BES. THIS BOX WAS DESIGNED STRICTLY FOR THE LISTENER WHO WANTS TO CREATE EARTHQUAKES. MADE STRICTLY FOR THE SERIOUS PRO-AUDIO INDIVIDUAL. THIS IS NO IMITATION AND NOT SOME MADE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY PIECE. THIS BOX WILL PROBABLY OUTLAST THE VEHICLE IT IS INSTALLED IN AND DEFINITELY IS THE HUMVEE OF SUBWOOFER ENCLOSURES MADE RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA. THE "BOX" WEIGHS ALMOST 200 POUNDS WITHOUT THE SUBS INSTALLED. PLEASE SEE HIGHLY-DETAILED PICTURES BELOW FOR STEP BY STEP PROOF OF THE BUILD. THE ENCLOSURE WAS MADE WITH SEPARATE SHEETS OF 1/2-INCH MDF BOARD GLUED TOGETHER USING HEAVY-DUTY COMMERCIAL-GRADE ADHESIVE AND SOMEWHAT CROSS-LAMINATED AND PRESSED TOGETHER UNDER WEIGHT. THE END RESULT WAS A PERFECTLY FLAT MDF BOARD THAT WAS 1-INCH THICK AND EXTREMELY SOLID. EACH PIECE WAS CUSTOM CUT AND SANDED. EVERY INDIVIDUAL PIECE OF LUMBER USED WAS GLUED AND THEN SCREWED TOGETHER USING EITHER #8 1 1/2-INCH CONSTRUCTION SCREWS OR 3-INCH OR 4-INCH DECK SCREWS. ALMOST 500 SCREWS WERE USED IN ALL. THESE WERE FITTED WITH A SUB-FRAME OF 1-INCH BY 1-INCH HIGH-QUALITY BOARDS FOR EXTRA SUPPORT. SOME OF THE INTERNAL FRAME WAS ALSO BOLTED TOGETHER GIVING AN ADDITIONAL STRUCTURAL SUPPORT THAT WAS RIGID. ONCE ALL OF THE LUMBER WAS PUT TOGETHER, IN DIFFERENT STAGES, EVERY CREVASS WAS SEALED USING THE EXPANDING-VERSION OF GORILLA GLUE FOR THE FIRST STEP AND THEN CLEAR SILICONE WAS USED AS THE FINAL SEALING ELEMENT. THE PORT TUBES WERE MADE USING 3-INCH PVC PIPE AND THE OPENINGS OF THE PORTS WERE UNIQUELY-DESIGNED, CUSTOM FABRICATED, AND METICULOUSLY HAND-SCULPTED USING VARIOUS HARDWARE ATTACHMENTS. EACH PORT OPENING MERGES TOGETHER WITH THE OTHERS TO FORM ONE-OVERALL PORT EXIT. ALL OF THE PVC ATTACHMENTS WERE GLUED USING INDUSTRIAL PVC ADHESIVE, THEN ALL OF THE CONNECTION POINTS WERE SEALED THEN WRAPPED WITH ALUMINUM TAPE, WHICH WAS THEN FOLLOWED BY AN ADDITIONAL WRAPPING OF COMMERCIAL-GRADE DUCT TAPE SEVERAL TIMES. THE PVC PORT WAS PRESS FITTED INTO THE ENCLOSURE TO ENSURE A TIGHT FIT. AS A BACK UP, EACH SECTION WHERE THE PORT HOLE WAS DRILLED, ONCE THE PORT TUBE WAS INSTALLED, EACH SECTION WAS INDIVIDUALLY SEALED USING THE TWO PRODUCTS MENTIONED ABOVE. SEVERAL LOADS OF FIBER-FILL WAS HEAVILY PACKED INTO THE REAR OF THE ENCLOSURE, ESPECIALLY AROUND THE PORT TUBES. A HEAVY-DUTY HANDLE WAS INSTALLED AND BOLTED ON EACH SIDE OF THE ENCLOSURE FOR EASIER HANDLING. EACH PARTITION WAS WIRED WITH HEAVY-DUTY 12-GUAGE PROFESSIONAL SPEAKER WIRE. I WIRED THE ENCLOSURE AS FOLLOWS: SINCE TWO OF THE SUBS I AM USING ARE EACH 4-OHMS WITH SINGLE VOICE COIL, I WIRED THESE TWO IN A SERIES. THE THIRD SUB(NOT PICTURED) IS AN 8-OHM SUB AND HAS DUAL-VOICE COILS. I WIRED THIS SUB IN PARALLEL TO THE OTHER SET OF WIRES FOR THE OTHER TWO SUBS, THUS MAKING THE ENTIRE ENCLOSURE A 4-OHM SPEAKER ENCLOSURE USING 3 12-INCH SUBWOOFERS. ALL THE DRILL HOLES FOR THE WIRE ARE ALSO COMPLETELY SEALED INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY USING A TWO-STEP PROCESS. THE EXTERIOR OF THE SPEAKER ENCLOSURE WAS FINISHED WITH TWO TO THREE COATS OF COMMERCIAL-GRADE AUTOMOTIVE TRUCK-BED LINER. THIS GIVES THE "BOX" EXTRA DURABILITY AND ALSO ACTS AS A FINAL COAT OF SEALANT. THE PORT EXIT WAS ALSO PAINTED BLACK TO BLEND IN WITH THE REST OF THE BOX. LAST, ONCE ALL OF THE SUBWOOFERS WERE WIRED, THEY WERE INSTALLED INDIVIDUALLY USING 8 - 1 1/2-INCH #8 CONSTRUCTION SCREWS AND BACKED WITH A STRIP OF ADHESIVE FOAM PADDING TO ENSURE A TIGHT FIT THAT IS COMPLETELY AIR TIGHT. THE SUBWOOFERS ARE AS FOLLOWS: I HAVE TWO JVC CS-GS5120 12-INCH SUBWOOFERS. THEY ARE 4-OHM WITH SINGLE VOICE COILS. HANDLE 800 WATTS MAX EACH AND 250 WATTS RMS EACH. MY THIRD SUB IS A 12-INCH KENWOOD KFC-W3012DVC. IT HAS TWO 4-OHM VOICE COILS. IT HANDLES 1400 WATTS MAX AND 400 WATTS RMS. I WOULD PREFER TO KEEP THE SUBS AND JUST SELL MY ENCLOSURE BY ITSELF, SINCE I WILL BE DOWNGRADING THE SIZE OF MY VEHICLE, BUT I WOULD EVENTUALLY LIKE TO BUILD A SMALLER BOX AND PUT THESE SUBS BACK IN IT. Why would you EVER WANT flex?huh?...flex is what can make the lows lower and more air being pushed correct?
