i tried the up and port back , but there does not seem to be hard enough kick .

i think the entry level dd's rely on reflex off the trunk

What box did you use that you where able to try it with sub up port back? whats the boxs specs?

Like someone else said I also think building a new box for the sub is your best bet. How much power are you putting to this sub? Im pretty sure its only a single coil either 4 or 2 ohm and I got no idea what your using for an amp or the power it puts out at 2 or 4 ohms.

as for relying on the trunk. That can be true for any sub. But you had 4 15s, and you are dropping down to one 15, its going to be hard to get it sounding like it did with 4 subs which is what your use too.

New box gets my vote.

5 cubed

tuned too 40hz - 37hz min (dd uses this note for reason, and my 12 didnt come alive til I chopped my port shorter)

and try for at least 70 square inches of port.

sub up, port back

45 all the corners and you should be set.

A box will make or break your system.

I had my 9915 in a ported box approx 3.2 cubes after displacement. It slammed! 147.2dB in my station wagon at 40hz! Small is good despite what people say..

Anger: 2 x Digital Designs 9915 dual 1ohm

Force: Digital Designs Z1a Amplifier

Yea, and you had a nice chunk of power going to that one 15 too :) 6000+ rms?

After displacement I think I was around 3.5 cubed then I ended up inverting my port, and chopping a lil more then a inch or so off my port and I heard a big difference.

I'd say if it can only handle 400wrms...4 cubic feet ported is too big for it. I'd build a new crx style box around 2.5 cubic feet. I'm not sure if it was on this site, but I've heard that having too big of a box without enough power can lose you dB's.

Nah more like 4000w, if you're lucky on 12v
