So my first box was a total piece of shit. It got loud but I messed up quite a bit on a few big things. Anyways. Here are a bunch of pictures that I did not take on my first box but I did on this one. There are even some videos of the sexy CNC machine cutting my perfect circle. Comments, suggestions are welcome! Please!

Thank you - Enjoy

All the pictures were taken with my iPhone 4. Pretty darn good quality for a phone! :)

About 1.8 Cubes Net 32-36 sq. " of port I believe. I was working pretty quick on the plans and forgot some of it. Hopefully it sounds good haha.

Nail Gun was just for securing it to let the glue dry. I'm screwing everything together later.

That's where I ended today. That is all in about 3 1/2 hours or so. It was alot of fun and hopefully I'll finish it by the end of this week.

Looks really good. Great work on the corners.

I love car audio so much because I will never be done. I can never win, and I will never get it finished or perfect. It always has me coming back for more, I can never get my fill of it, but I get what I need.

It's a black epoxy paint for automotive stuff. With lacquer thinner in it. Sprayed on with a paint gun. It's fucking sticky! I'll have to double check on the name of it for you though.

My arm was covered just from the stuff floating in the air. It sucked so hard!

New pictures

Top of the box on and screwed down with 1 5/8" screws. Countersunk and pre-drilled. Waiting on bondo to fill the holes and repaint!

damn thats a slow ass feedrate on the cnc for that much rpm. sounds like its running 8-9,000 rpm, and looks like its running about f10.0 on the feedrate. at that rpm, i run f200.0 in mdf.

running that slow at that speed, im surprised you didnt start a fire.

nice lookin' box tho'!

It was at eighty it took about 6 minutes to go all the way through. One guy actually did start a little fire the other day. Forgot to set it and it was moving at about 12,000 RPM and 2 or 3" a minute. It was ridiculous. Apparently he forgot to set that haha.

Thank you, it's coming along for my second box ever. I'm happy so far. I have alot more work ahead of me though.

Edit: didn't like the number 8 and 0

good job building it, 2 questions/statements

  • fill all the wood with a bondo type filler, before you paint so it looks completely uniform
  • why all the white caulk? do you not believe that with a large port that the air will take the path of lest resistance? and with a properly glued joint, it makes a great seal...
