Example a 4 ohm woofers will most likely read somewhere around 3 to 4 ohms. It's generally not higher than what it says. Like 5 ohms for a 4 ohm woofer. If it reads something crazy high then its blown or close to being blown

If it reads something crazy high then its blown or close to being blown I think you're backwards. My 1.4 ohm coils read 1.7-1.9 between 3 subs.You have to account for the resistance of the dmm leads, which you can determine by touching the leads to eachother. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
CruelSoul Posted October 5, 2010 Author Report Posted October 5, 2010 heres the thing i wired to 1 ohm pos to pos neg to neg on each sub then went pos to neg etc and with my amp its 1 ohm stable when i crank it up its cuts out everytime and dunno why its a kicker kx1200.1 but if i play it on 1 sub it doesnt cut out and then i started blowing fuses to now any suggestions?
TeamHT Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 well....im in a hurry, but those amps are not 1 ohm stable. i think youre confusing the .1 for 1 ohm when it means 1 channel. when wiring 1 sub youre running it at 2 ohms, which the amp is stable at. wiring both subs in your configuration wires to 1 ohm which the amp is not stable at. and i believe the 1200 was max ratings on the kx series. only 600watts rms Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
