hey is it possible to seal off the trunk and have the subs facing the trunk lid instead of firing in the cabin? -you

yeah but if im not mistaken there gana be around the same price. so with the lvl 5s takein the power just fine, your gettin the cone area of 12s with the price of the 10s.. only thing youd get by buying the 10s is less space and satisfaction knowing there xls.

but set them back in the trunk a bit, for clearence from the seat and its about 3-4in more right beind the opening. then trim it off and shed be pertty and slap.

I agree with you 100% on the 12s having more cone area. That's a given. But 1) there is a nice price difference from XLs to 5s. Especially the msrp on them. But there is NO reason to get the 5s unless you plan to add another 3500 for one on each speaker.
