Mx833
I Have a 1996 ext cab silverado, and i took out the backseat so i would have room for a custom box. I have two options pertaining to the subwoofers i might purchase. Feel free to comment on either one if you have any advice for me. Thanks! 1) 2 12in Level 4 DC Subs -These are the subs im really considering buying. -I want to build a box reaching from one back/side window to the other, with a slot port in the middle. -Should subs face the back of the front seats, or should i face them upwards? -Is a wall possible with 2 12's and an ext cab truck? -I need ideas and tuning options for the box. 2) 2 18in Level 4 DC Subs -Might buy these, but still thinking about it. -Are 2 18's too big for an ext cab truck? -Should i try to build a wall filling the ext cab, or just keep it around 20in tall(and still have it reach from side to side) -I need ideas and tuning options for the box. Any advice or help is much appreciated. Thanks, Mx833
STEvil
I had a probably identical truck: http://s216.photobucket.com/albums/cc232/STEviltoo/my%20truck/ Ran a pair of 18's in it: http://s216.photobucket.com/albums/cc232/STEviltoo/HK18s/ This is a sample of what to expect from two 18's on under 2KW RMS tuned near 34hz with about 6 cubes each: There's some other vids on my youtube as well. MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed. STEvil
Very nice. I was unsure if 6 cubes would be possible for each but i guess it is lol. any specific reason why you reverse mounted? 'Cause I like to see the motors secondly for magnet support. Not all drivers have the magnet bolted to the basket which means if you hit a hard enough bump or jump your truck (... hehe..) you can break the glue bond holding the motor together if its in any position other than with the motor pointing up. Mostly just for looks though MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..."
