Can you name another 10 on the market that needs a mounting plate because the motor is sooo big? can you name a 10 on the market that is capable of handling 4k+w in a daily application? .. then you can kinda understand why its being compared to a lvl 5 10... looks like a monster sub, got any specs on it? aside from rms? This is a ferrite motor so it is much larger that a NEO cousin. But the more material you have, coupled with the correct coil, correct geometry, and suspension tuned accordingly, you can get more strength to combat things like power compression. In high SPL applications you get pressure and vacuum built up in front and behind the cone, and the higher you go in SPL, the more strength it takes to keep that cone pushing through the pressure. Its kind of like if you were pushing a broke down car on concrete, then you rolled it onto gravel, you need a stong friend to help you push. The surround is the main concern, I think the basic surround will rip.
