TH3xBO55
Well I was curious what ya'lls opinion on fuse usage for your system. I know that my buddy for instance has about 2200 rms going to his sub and he has a huge fuse between his amp and sub plus the standard between batt to amp. Is there a "rule of thumb" when it comes to using fuses? What size, placement, and amount of fuses should one use? Rainman215
I've never heard of a fuse between an amp and driver. All you need is a fuse between the battery and amp. I'll try and grab more Info for you Quote My 02 Accord Wall Build 2 Sundown Audio Nightshade V1 18s --- 1 SAZ 3500 Sundown Audio 100.4 --- 4 Sundown Audio Neo-Pro 8s Sundown Audio 125.2 --- 2 Morel MD-12 Tweeters , 2 Selenium ST-200 Tweeters DC Power 270xp --- 4 XS Power D1200s | 1 D5100R

fr34kout
Rule of thumb is to use a fuse within 18" of each battery on the positive run. So if you only have 1 battery and an amp, you fuse 18" or closer to the front battery. Fuse according to the fusing on your amp. If you have multiple batteries, you also fuse within 18" of each battery. So for your positive run from front to back you fuse within 18" of the front battery and within 18" of the rear battery, fused to the size of the wire.
