Playa Named Joe
If you have a 1200 rms amp, and you have two subs hooked up to the ohm load that is needed to produce the 1200 rms, each sub will receive 600 rms. hdorre
If you have a 1200 rms amp, and you have two subs hooked up to the ohm load that is needed to produce the 1200 rms, each sub will receive 600 rms. In a perfect world, yes. But there are many factors (voltage drop, impedance rise, etc). Each sub would get 600 watts if those factors were eliminated. Each sub would get the same amount if power. You could put two 600 or 1000 watt subs on that 1200 watt amp. The 1000 watt subs would just want more power. The subs will move though Edited November 11, 2010 by hdorre Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread

Autruche
Why does everyone have such a hard on about impedance rises? It only really matters when you're making a one note wonder and you're wiring down to .25 ohms or something. Sure, a box with less rise will get you louder for daily, but most of the time the difference in impedance rise and box rise negligible... /rant Quote Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? fr34kout
It's nice to see what kind of impedance you're actually seeing and how much power you're really getting out of your amp. I didn't care until I clamped my amp and saw I was rising from .7 ohms to 3.3 ohms, that's a big difference.
