MrSkippyJ
Just bought a new 360 slim, sometimes the sound cuts out. I have HDMI going to TV, then fiber optic from TV to receiver. I have my AT&T U-verse box hooked the same way, no sound problems there. I get no sound at all from XBOX when this happens, on TV or through receiver. Anyone have any ideas? MrSkippyJ
check all the connection ? or trying the xbox on another tv ? It's not the TV, but it could be the HDMI input I am using on the TV. I will switch to the input I am using U-verse for, it works all the time. and can you not hook up everything threw HDMI ? I have everything going into my TV with HDMI, only problem is my audio receiver doesn't have HDMI anything, so I am using the fiber optic output from TV to go to the receiver. Robert8252
Guessing the radio doesn't have HDMI? I don't know what xbox has but if you could do hdmi to tv. Then coax or fiber from the xbox to stereo...... Buy new receiver with hdmi input and output. The problem is, I am getting no sound from my HDMI (could be cable) so even if I bought a new receiver with HDMI connections, I still could have no sound. Robert8252
Doesn't the xbox itself have settings as to audio output and what type? My ps3 does and maybe it's not detecting where to put the sound out at. Try that maybe Quote 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff

That was my first thought though, so maybe someone else knows. My ps3 does and maybe it's not detecting where to put the sound out at. Try that maybe i have my ps3 the same way as i think you have your xbox shkibbybop hdmi straight to tv and the sound thru the fiber optic to the receiver. never had a problem. but if you dont have the receiver on, the sound also come thru the tv. might be different since its a ps3 but like robert says, check for the setting on the main menu sreen to change it at least on the ps3 it does have that option not sure of 360 but prob is the same way.
