AMI CUSTOMS Posted November 19, 2010 Report Share Posted November 19, 2010 I got my blown sub back and put it back into the wall and started the truck up and began to go for a drive to start to break the sub in. Well I noticed between songs that I have alt whine in the speakers, turn the head unit off and it goes away. I have never noticed it before so it is really weird. Anyway, I have quad alt setup, each alt has ground and power 0 gauge going to the rear batteries. Also I noticed that if I turn the sub amps off or the 4 channel off I still get the whine, no volume, but if I turn the head unit off it goes away. What should I do? My thoughts is upgrade ground on head unit to like 10 gauge??? Discuss!!!! That is really the only too things it could be right? And ground at either amp or battery or head unit when you say check grounds? Where was your issue at, which ground? pstone11 Posted November 19, 2010 Report Share Posted November 19, 2010 Normally it is just a grounding issue - the first thing to do is to run a jumper wire from your head unit ground to your battery - post. Check to see if it clears up. If that dosn't work, run a jumper ground from your battery to amp. Check again. If that dosn't work, slave in a new set of RCA's. check again... If that dosn't work, try grounding the outer conductor of the RCA's to your head unit chassis.. especially if it is a pioneer head unit..... Repost if none of that works. I will give that a shot when there is daylight. It is a kenwood deck and AQ 3500's strapped, and memphis 45.4 amps. If I remove the link RCA cable between the two strapped 3500's it goes away, All I have to do is unhook the slave end and sound gone. How do I fix it, just replace that one coax video cable with another one? I am open to suggestions.
