Take your time to read around the forum and get to know how to set your stuff up. It isn't difficult and you will save yourself some serious money by not messing your equipment up. AMI CUSTOMS Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Just fyi L7's like lots of bass boost, and they handle alot of abuse I have tried to blow a set and couldn't, clipped the hell out of them and no issue, just huge voltage drop. I couldn't understand it. That square sub is a unicorn....LOL. kingkon Posted December 9, 2010 Author Report Posted December 9, 2010 When i saw how people reacted to how my settings were it kind of freaked me out, but those setting were like that for about a year without blowing anything, and I bang the shit out of it.. Only thing is that my voltage would drop a lot and amp would clip sometimes.. But once this box goes in I'll mess with it some more
FaTbOy911 Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 ok i have a memphis 2500 and this things do realy suck power with 1 yellow top i havent had any problems dosent heat up or anything but i did the big 3 upgrade now i have 3 yellowtops and man music sounds realy diffrent bass hits way harder now so what can i tell u put a yellowtop on ur front and use ur bluw top on back if im right yellow top is more as a dobule function it helps maintain vlotage and gives some good amps blue top jsut helps u maintain voltage and the red top is mostly for big cars wich means realy good amperage Had an estimate of 6400 for an alpine/clarion setup dealer said it "should" hit around 160db with the custom boxes he was going to make for me..doubtful with so much area to move but, budget is way below that any ideas on cheaper brands for that kind of Spl setup? really didnt want to try any Boss or soundstorm, thinking Quantum figure around $150 per speaker "$1800 total" and $1700 to power it, first actual big setup for the van.
