iceman1575
you're gonna need the os too..... That's what Im most worried about. I'm guessing you could use command prompt (on windows). It'll be a pita finding directions though Perhaps just copy via SSH from an active iPod? Quote POTATO!

However if you decide to distribute them(Sell) you are just begging for a lawsuit. Or you could just get in trouble for copying there OS. hdorre
could try plugging it in and restore the ipod. i dont think that would work Would the computer even recognize the "ipod" as an Apple device without ANY software on the ipod? I doubt it. The hardware may be recognized, but I doubt that too Quote On 5/8/2011 at 7:38 PM, Kranny said: On 5/8/2011 at 7:35 PM, 'Maxim' said: It hurts me inside when I read stuff like this and remember you're 15 LMFAO so true Mitsubishi 3000GT (Old Build) Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: (2) McLaren Audio MLT-2 Tweeters & (4) PRV Audio MR Series Neo 6.5" Mids Substage: 4 15" Hybrid Subs - Tantric Motors & Sundown Softies Amps: Banda 2.4D Amp (Tweets), American Bass VFL 350.4 (Mids), and (2) Ampere 3800s Electrical :Singer 260A Alt & JY Power Lithium 2005 Chevy Colorado Ext Cab Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS Frontstage: 4 PRV 700Ti Tweets & 6 10" Delta Mids on 3000wrms Substage: 6 Fi BTL 18s in a 4th Order Walkthrough on 3 Wolfram 4500s Electrical: Singer "390" and JY Power My Official Feedback Thread

n8ball2013
it should recognize it. It would probably show as a mass storage device though. rusty959
Ok, so the only parts that could really be recognized are the logic board and hd right? screen battery case etc don't show up. If you can replace a hard drive, there must be some way to get the software back on, but it might be tied to the board? If you can replace the board there must be some way to keep the os that is on the hd. So seems to me, it would have to be possible to do it somehow, or you couldn't replace the hard drive because it wouldn't have anything to run on. Maybe if you can't do the new parts together you could throw the hd on a working ipod and then transfer it to the new board. Im not experienced in this field though. Its not like apple sells licenses to the ipods though... so it seems like there isn't a firm hold on keeping from "piracy" Quote 2013 Subaru BRZ12" Orion HCCA on AQ 22001967 mustang restoration project: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110765-mustang-restoration-build-2011-edition/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/therusty959
