aquill1 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Your speed can be paced when directly behind you. No the radar can't tell how fast you were going when you are both moving in the same direction, other than telling what the patrol vehicle's speed is. Depending on the police department policy the officer will get overtime pay. If you happen to be lucky enough to have the officer not show up, good for you. Nearly all people I write a ticket to deserved it and wont fight it. Kind of hard to argue warrants, no DL, Invalid DL, no insurance, exp reg, exp inspect or rear-ending someone at an accident. I haven't had anybody fight any of the above tickets. and with the car being no different than radar or lidar, you must show calibration of the equipment used to detect the speed. so tell me, how often do you have your speedometer checked, and how often do you check your tire pressures? both of these would be questioned by any lawyer who is even slightly above retarded............ My reply had nothing to do with what a retarded lawyer would question, it was in relation to what we can and are able to do. How many people bring a lawyer to fight a ticket? I don't write speeding tickets so I don't have answers for you. Not sure how often they calibrate any of it, but if I do pace someone I don't use my speedometer.
lowsound10 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 I always thought a cop had to be stopped if using a radar? But they can stop you coming at you just cant give you a ticket because it could be off. In florida a cop told me cops dont show up to court dates like 70% of the time. I got 2 tickets i didnt fight them because the cops were nice. I got caught going 67 in a 45 only gave me 135 dollar ticket for idk what. then 87 in a 70 only wrote 79 in a 70. But like i said i thought they couldnt get you when your head on to each other. JaM Customs aka mprete Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 if you have oversized tires or undersized tires your SPEEDO WILL BE WRONG. check your tire size. if they are bigger then you are speeding all the time. if smaller then you are going slower then what the speedo says. also if you or you know someone with a gps, take it for a ride and see if it matches your speedo. good luck 2001 dodge ram 2500 quad cab 5.9L V8 my build logs... dodge build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/94914-mpretes-2001-dodge-ram-2500-quad-cab-build-log/ trik build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/94447-trik-build/page__p__1298547__hl__trik__fromsearch__1entry1298547 box building thread- very cool designs (PICS!!!) http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/95713-2d-or-3d-box-pics/page__gopid__1318152entry1318152 i am a mechanic, pm me if you have questions or anything.
831Arevalo Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I got pull three times and I had to pay a total of 1000 so ur good lol
cmamtower Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 cops are good guys half the time. they cut you slack on your speed to save your ass from paying shitloads of money, but so they still make their quota. on the other hand, if they're running low on their quota by the end of the month, they'll pull people over just so they can assign a ticket for something they can find wrong with your car, but thats so they'll be able to keep their jobs and make money for their families just like anyone else. i know a bunch of cops and their cool as shit, but its the damn city police that wanna be just like the big boy state troopers. but they're working hard for that. for the radar, they need to be sitting still off the side of the road, and if they're using a laser they can get your speed very accurately coming from any direction and quite far away. im tired as shit and im probably wrong on half of this stuff so correct me please. cant learn anything without being harassed for being wrong lol apparently you dont get the fact that the subaru was wrapped around a pole. and by the status of your comment, im guessing your mouth is too.
