skittlesRgood Posted December 2, 2010 Report Share Posted December 2, 2010 (edited) Yea thats just solder flux, helps the solder stick, isnt harmful to the sub. i think flux just helps it flow, not stick. last time I checked they didn't solder your leads. they looked like their burt. when you solder anything you usually tin the wire. the tinsel gets hot and soaks up solder and flux. i just did a recone yesterday and had flux soak about 3/8" up the tinsel. it just happens. now it does look like way too much on the tinsels and thats why i said it might be burnt. but the brown/amber stuff on the terminals is definitely flux. I'm sure if it was anything to worry about, sundownz would have told you.
