DD3515e

I have about 3.5 cubes and 1500wrms. How will this DD sub compare to an Ascendant Audio Havoc in my application? This will be for a daily system and I want them lows (i know that it depends on the box). This system won't EVER see the TL.

i have the 12" version of this.

currently it is in a 2.5 cube box after displacements tuned to 34 hz with 37.5 sq inches of port.

i have the sub inverted and enclosure facing the trunk.

i can hit some pretty low notes. i can rip on 27-28 hz all day long with no issues. as for how it compares to a havoc i dont know.

i just wanted to share that the DD will get low if you ask it to.

oh and im on about the same power

Give it more airspace IMO 4.5 tuned to 35-38 at least 16 per, I like 17-18 per. In the right airspace, it plays harder lower than a Havoc. For low lows, I do 30% over recommended on DD.

I hope that's 3.5 after port. The good news is you have a lot of power since you don't have the efficiency of big airspace. You could try tuning low as your airspace allows and as big a port as you can and see how that goes.

4.5 cubes? The most I can get is 4 per sub, and thats pushing it (cant fiberglass over wheel wells and dont want box over back seats). Lol, yes its 3.5 after all displacements.

I got tuning down to 37.37hz on the 7.19 cubic foot box with 17.8 square inches of port per cubic foot. Doesnt 35-38hz tuning seem kinda high?

I'd go with that combo. I didn't know you had 2. That helps. They "think" they are in more airspace when you add woofers. So yours will be sort of like each one is in 4 cubes each. With 36hz tuning it will get low, no problem.
