NO POWER HELP

Just got a RF500-1 Monoblock amp in the mail today...its hooked up right, it turns on, power, everything...no power to my terminals at all. Tried another amp...same stuff. amp turns on, no sub at all. tried different rca's, got the meter out and got power everywhere...wtf?

Yes I have an Alpine CDA-9886 and everything is setup the way I had it before...as in I just unhooked subs and an amp 2 weeks ago, taped up my loose ends and just replaced an inline fuse..cuz i took it out lol. Put a meter on the fuse, on the amp, on everything and the terminals wont read anything on both amps i tried...and i pulled them both out of the wrapping and the box brand new. Tried different speaker wires and even took the sub out of the box and hooked it up directly to the amp. It doesnt even move!

didnt have them changed to begin with...subwoofer on the deck and imput on amp...i've tried them everywhere except my nose and there isnt even signal. the deck works fine.

did you make sure you have power at your power wire from the battery? cuz the remote make the amp turn on, but your power wires gives it well the power....

Its obviously not the power/ground or remote turn wires if it powers up like he said...

Here is what I would do... Get a 3.5mm to RCA cord and hook the RCA end up to your amp's input. Then plug your iPod or whatever you have into the 3.5mm side and check for sound. If there is no sound, make sure the sub is wired correctly to the amp... if it is a dual voice coil sub, make sure you have the output from the amp going to atleast one voice coil(I would recommend using both coils though!). When I hooked up my Solo x 18 originally, I only ran one coil, but you have to make sure you have the positive and negative wires from the amp's output going onto voice coil 1 positive and voice coil 1 negative, not voice coil 1 positive and voice coil 2 negative.

If you have sound after directly connecting the iPod to the amp, check your settings on your head unit. If none of this fixed it yet, check your settings on your amp. I'm assuming you're talking about the Rockford Fosgate Prime R500-1... make sure the gain is up at a level that you can hear. It may be playing, but is too quiet to even be heard.

If all else fails, read the manual... or call Rockford Fosgate technical support! Hope I helped!

mite wanna check the voltage going into the amp. sum of them bog 1s can be picky about the voltage that comes into them and they mite act funky. i seen a pheonix gold turn on and evrything but it didnt do shit else because it was only on at 10 volts. hooked it up so it was gitting 12 it worked fine. thats just my thoughts thow

I think its only a 500 watt Rockford amp though. Thats what I was able to come up with from the initial post?
