n8ball2013 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Share Posted December 13, 2010 ok first things first this is going to be quick down and dirty. click the start icon in the bottom left corner go to run and type in CMD that will pull up the command prompt type in ipconfig and hit enter look for the ip address of your default gateway THAT IS THE ADDRESS OF YOUR ROUTER! open an internet browser window and type that ip address in and hit enter type in the password and username if you do not know it and never changed it google it a linksys will be username blank and password of admin look for mac address cloning you will not be cloning your mac though. on a linksys it is under setup and then mac address cloning you will have to enable this change a few digits in your mac address. try to keep it similar change letters for letters and numbers for numbers. click save settings. pull the power from the modem and your router. plug your modem in first after a few minutes and then your router try to connect now. Your isp sees your router as a different device and will now assign it a different IP address. Im not sure why this works. from what i gathered on this its when you use multiple devices on the same network to log onto the site. so for me using my laptop and desktop at the same time with my phone thrown in probably did it.
