Damn Steve that looks pretty bad. I dont know how you had the self conrol not to pop that other driver in the face. 40mph crash like that the lexy took it well and did its job protecting you. Glad your still in one piece and get some hydro therapy on that back of yours.

Car looks a total loss to me but im not up on what insurance do over there.

ya i almost didnt put the vid up because i was like these guys are gonna go, "thats it???".......due to the bumper and talights still looking good. There is no way for me to describe the way that felt at the moment of impact. I could have sworn when i got out, the trunk was going to be mashed up to my back window and everything demolished. I was surprised to see that it all looked pretty good EXCEPT for the quarter panels and the other stuff of course. Anyway Roy says i took almost all the impact DIRECTLY to the bumper. Had it been a slower impact accident, we would be talking about a bumper skin. Since it was so fast the bumper took all it had and then had no choice but to keep going into the body which went into "crumple" mode. But gettin hit that hard then hitting another car that hard really tosses you around and i felt every bit of it. I am just glad it was a mid 90's honda accord and not a big rig. Its a commercial area so there are a lot of large vehicles out there.

anyway, on to another thing....everyone has been pretty cool about it with the comments, but there is a couple people on youtube and maybe a few here that think i did something wrong or i could have prevented this. Are you guys crazy? That is the dumbest fucking thing ive ever heard. How am i doing something wrong, sitting still and probably 8feet from the car in front of me that is also sitting still?

it hasnt been to the adjuster yet, they are coming out today. Roy and everyone over there thinks its totalled. I will have to wait for a final verdict before i can start shopping again. Did i mention i have GAP insurance?

that is my 91 tercel LOL

it was my daughters but the engine is old and has bad compression in 2 cylinders. I got her a honda accord and i took that as trade. Now i have a car that i can put major DB into and not worry so much about hurting it. Stay tuned for that

Take it easy Steve, let your body get back to normal. Glad to see that you came out of it ok, accidents suck balls. As for the people that said you could have done something to prevent it, you can't fix stupid. Some people just have rocks in their head, nothing we can do about it.
