Incin
Alright I have a 99 Grand Am GT and im going to be installing 2 FI BTL 1ohm 12s in a box tuned at 32 hertz. 2 Kinetik HC3800 batts, 2 Power Acoustik Stax 5000/1D, getting a spool of 125' of Monseter 1/0, not sure what amp wiring to get yet, a Kinetik battery for the front, 1 Mechman 270 amp alternator, and 100 sq. ft. of dynomat. So you guys think im missing anything? And what do you suggest when it comes to wiring for the amps? Quote well, it'll make you shit bricks. TeamHT
You're missing XS... And why PA? And if you're not getting a good deal on the dynamat I'd look to fatmat. Maybe you could save enough to get better 0 gauge... Quote Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
TeamHT
And anything for the front stage? Fuses for your wiring. Voltage meter to at least make sure you're where you need to be. hdorre
For wiring- KnuKonceptz You should get a headunit, fuses, fuse holders, RCAs, Digital MultiMeter, solder, ring terminals, and a voltage meter Also, wood, glue, and nails (for enclosure). I'm sure I'm missing a few things. Superjay
look at Second Skin...less money than the Dynamat, and twice as thick...test after test has proven it to be far superior Quote Principal JTech Consulting - Leader in 12-Volt Training and Product PlanningIt's not about how much power you have, but how well you use it
Incin
Well if you guys think I need something changed I wouldnt second geuss it, this is the first setup that im going to be doing so advice is great. So I should change the kinetik batterys for XS then? and what amps you suggest would be better? for sound deadening im going with Second Skin. Quote well, it'll make you shit bricks. Superjay
something other than Power Akoustik...if you want a real 5000w amp look to sundown, stetsom, cactus (lots of $$$), even old Powerbass. XS batteries second skin damplifier pro you can find less expensive wire and still get real 1/0 (knu, hooker, scosche) make sure you install everything in the right order...and only tear it apart ONCE...do it all at once Quote Principal JTech Consulting - Leader in 12-Volt Training and Product PlanningIt's not about how much power you have, but how well you use it
TeamHT
Secondskin is awesome but look at rattletrap if you're going to spend that much. Much cheaper, and awesome. Super awesome. Amps? Id say either two AQ2200s or one AQ3500. And yes, kinetic isn't bad...but there is no real comparison. Swapping out the XS to kinetic...made me swap right back to XS. Incin
Alright im looking into Knu an getting 8 gauge speaker wire the Karma SS, and getting the 1/0 from there as well. Im switching to XS batts, and I was gunna go with AQ amps at first.. ill have to look at the other ones. And im not installing it myself (just to be safe) theres a audio shop that one of my freinds goto and hes dumped alot of money in them for installs and everything so im gunna have them do it. hdorre
I want to add to the list of amp recommendations- SounDigital makes good stuff. Theyre having a sale on their SD5000 amp. It does 5000 at 12.5 volts and 6500 at 14.4 volts. They're $880 iirc.
