Multiple runs of power/ground cable..?

Hey guys...

just a couple of questions...

I completely understand the reason behind running multiple runs of power cable from the alt. and front battery to the rear battery bank... however I dont understand the need for multiple ground cables...

Why cant the rear battery bank just be grounded to the chasis or frame? What benefit is there to running a cable from the ground on the front battery to the rear battery(s)?

2nd off...

I'm planning on running an xs power d3100 under the hood of my tahoe and 2 3400s in the rear along with a 200+amp dc alternator... I use 2/0 weld power cable for all of my power/ground cables... would I benefit from running multiple runs of cable from the battery to the rear and the alt. to the rear or would the single line coming off the front battery be enough?

I will be running something simular to a sundown audio 3500d @ 1ohm

What are your thoughts/opinions on this?

Nothing's wrong wiring the rear battery to chassis. There many way of peoples doing it. Have many runs of wire to front and rear mean less resistance..

Electricity takes the path of least resistance. Running grounds from your front to back batteries gives the electricity another option is all. You are certainly ok with using a good chassis ground, some people just like to do more.

You can't run too much wire. It may end up being way more than you need, but it won't hurt anything. Just make sure if is fused appropriately.
