2 weeks ago "In wikipedia i found that this sub in 1997's unofficial private SPLdB drag was burned down the dB meter! The dB was over 300 and the system burned down. Actually, 300dB is only about ¼ of this prototype sound level."

I don't know anything about guns... so when I saw the title I thought, "I wonder what kind of woofer the AR-15 is?"

*laughs*

Twisted, I would stay away from that guy, the next video he uploads could be you tied up in his living room while being forced to watch him "swag and cook" in person, lol.

i had one and yes they are AWESOME, they do rated power if you can mantain your voltage around 14v , they take tons of abuse and barely get hot, not to mention they sound great IMO :drink40:

I buddy had 2 Crossfire BMF 15´s with that amp and was hitting 147 @ 41 hz all day long, so i say they do the job pretty good :drinks:

they don't do rated power. never have. they'll do about 1350. conversely the 1000.1dx will do about 1250. you can save $150 by going with the smaller amp and get almost the same power

is it true that powerbass amps are power hungry? i heard somewhere it took a lot of juice to keep them happy

2001 gmc seirra

5.3 auto 3.73 locked rear, long tube headers, offroad y pipe, duals, cai, black bear tune, 2/4 drop, 22s, rockford fosgate mods and highs and 4 ab hd 15s and a ab 750.1

1995 civic

1.5 auto slower then hell, dropped on coil overs, ex hub caps, 2 12 trunk, have 450 bucks in the car and gets 35 mpg

the ASA amps are pretty inefficient. so, yes, they are power hungry.

I batch tested probably 20% of the amplifiers at PB...the 1500 was inconsistent, and only about 50% efficient at 1-ohm. efficiency would rise to 70% at 4-ohms. The 1000 was CONSIDERABLY better, with efficiency as high as 82%.
