i know how many people hate peel and seal and to start i thought it was genius. now i see the hard way (ok nothing bad happened but im saying this figuratively) that peel and seal really isnt worth it. when people said it takes many layers to = the real thing i didnt care. when people said it smelled i said i was tough i would live with it. when they said it would fall off i chanced it. so far none of those happened to me but somebody did the math that i said in the first quote how you get 25 sq ft for 16$ which isnt a good deal compared to the real stuff that works and now i regret my decision.

At lowe's hardware, it's $14 for 6" x 25ft, that's 12.5 sq ft for $14, or $1.12 per sq ft, since u need two layers, that's $2.24 sq ft.. Dynaliner is $75 for 12 sq ft, or $6.25 per sq ft.. it's 3 times as expensive... i don't know how $16 per sq ft wasn't a good deal compared to real deadner..

oh yeah i forgot its 6 inches so 12.5 sq ft. the dude i saw it from used a different brand and i think it was buying for bulk so the sq ft price was down real close to sq ft price for peel and seal. either way it opened my eyes and next time im passing. oh like i said if the trunk lid is rattling onto the bumper use weather stripping i have a video on that it works great. got the idea from Carroot1 here

I don't fuck around. I go from zero to I hope you die in less than 2 posts

haha very true. but i'm not saying it's a perfect replacement, obviously a product who's intended purpose is sound deadening, will make a better sound deadner. But for the price, and a low budget or small scale install, like just a trunk lid, it's not a horrible alternative. I too would recommend spending the money on real deadner, but i suppose i'm just playing devil's advocate.

i use this stuff, its not peal and seal, its made for hvac use so it cant stink :)

i have the same stuff but from a different company and just 1 layer on my doors made them solid as hell

this stuff is not cheap and has to go by a quality standard befor shipped and what knot because if it does not roll out perfect without creases or smell bad it gets thrown out

http://www.findtape.com/shop/product.aspx?id=565&idx=4&tid=2&info=aluminum+foil&setscreen=1&width=1440&height=636

i have not worked with peal and seal but i kno from experence this shit works and its ment for hvac so it has the thermal properties going for it to help keep out the heat and keep in the cold in summer and visa versa in winter

easy to apply, i never heated mine and done it in like 60-50 degree weather and it held fine and still does today, if u get mastic and cover it with it ur doors and what knot will be solid as cement lol

EDIT: i forgot to mention, u might have to be a hvac tech to buy this stuff so i dunno, this is the only company i can still find it from now, the one i got mine from went out of buisness since i can tell but they still sell this stuff, dunno if its a thing u can just pick up at lowes or home depot

i liked the SS better, but not by much. and the DRASTIC price difference has me sold. when someone comes in wanting a huge quality install, i offer SS as an option. (i am no dealer, i only do the work, not provide the equipment!) and if they want something almost as good but half the cost, because you do have to factor in shipping to alaska, rattletrap won in all categories. i am loving it to be honest.

And this right here was one my biggest feelings on this subject.

But would i buy more of the Peel & Seal for other parts of my car? Hell No i wouldnt. but as stated for something on a small scale and for a temporary fix, its not bad at

Edit: @TeamHT thats a good thing to know, i'll be looking for some RattleTrap early next year.

lol, in this case if you didnt have much money i would buy a small amount and use it on the parts that need it. not 100% of the surface metal needs to be covered mind you, enough to stop vibrations will make a small pack go a long way.
