thesilve15 Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 so i have an 09 silverado 1500 and i want to upgrade my alternator because ill be getting another battery. i dont really want to go the route of getting a dc alt because well i dont want to spend that much on a new one. so i was thinking of going down to picknpull and finding an alt of the 07-09 2500hd silverados because i know they run two batteries so the alts must push more power right? anyway im not sure what it would be pushing but im just curious if it would even work. help? (sorry for the post being in the wrong area, it was a random thought while i was reading)

They should also be able to tell you how many amps they put out as well. But like everyone else said, your better off with a mechman. I was going to try the route your going but its to hard to find one that will fit with more amps. So,i just came to the conclusion to just spend the money on a mechman.
